- Our next Guitar Society Meeting is on Monday January 9th 2023 (second Monday of the month) at Odd Fellows Hall and will begin at 7:15 pm
- Jesse McCann is our Featured Artist for the January meeting; he is an award-winning classical guitarist based in Portland, Oregon.
- Isaac Engel will be running the Ensemble Session, the music scores are available (see below) and anyone of you are delighted to join in and play.
- The Open Stage is an opportunity for anyone to play classical guitar music – beginners, intermediate, and advanced!
- The After School Guitar Program is continuing group lessons, private lessons, and ensemble at Odd Fellows on Monday January 9th at 6:00pm run by Isaac Engel.
- The second After School Guitar Program is on Monday January 16th at 6:00pm run by Zoe Moulton, and she is now also providing The Community Beginning Lesson for people of all ages from 7:00pm to 7:30pm at Odd Fellows.
Entrance is FREE and open to the public (donations gratefully received). Location: Odd Fellows Hall, 223 SW 2nd St, Corvallis, OR 97333. The entrance is between New Morning Bakery and Sedlaks Boots and Shoes.

Jon will be performing at Joan Truckenbrod’s gallery in the setting of Julia Bradshaw’s SURVEY artwork exhibition featuring a mixture of classical guitar music from around the world that reaches out to the moon and beyond.
Jon teaches out of his music studio in the Madison Plaza, downtown Corvallis. Prior to moving to Oregon, he taught beginning and intermediate adult group guitar classes with the East San Jose Union High School District for a number of years and has taught privately for over a decade catering to students from 8 years to 70+ years of age.
For aspiring classical guitarists, Jon recommends a structured approach to the guitar that matches
repertoire with appropriate technique building exercises and is anchored with method books selected to meet your needs as a student. This provides a systematic approach to reading music and understanding music theory.
A typical weekly lesson will include practical exercises to build technique, develop music reading skills, and work on prepared pieces. Lessons cost $45 for 1 hour and $25 for 30 mins. Remember, for younger people, music and playing the guitar can provide a lifetime of enjoyment. For older people, it’s never too late to learn!

In order to provide the local guitar community with a great range of classical guitars, Jon has just begun selling Córdoba instruments from his studio in downtown Corvallis. Córdoba offers an excellent range of guitars of very
