Jon teaches at in his private studio in the Fig Garden area of Fresno. Prior to moving to Fresno, he taught beginning and intermediate adult group guitar classes with the East San Jose Union High School District for a number of years as well as teaching individuals privately.

For aspiring classical guitarists, Jon recommends a structured approach to the guitar that matches repertoire with appropriate technique building exercises and provides a systematic approach to reading music and understanding music theory.

For the beginner guitarist who is unsure of what style they wish to pursue, Jon can offer a twelve-week guitar intro course. After this 12 week program you will better understand aspects of classical, folk, rock, blues and jazz guitar and which style interests you.

Remember, for younger people, music and playing the guitar can provide a lifetime of enjoyment. For older people, it’s never too late to learn (I know from experience!).
